Anyone feel the need to be MOD? | Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:14 pm by meanwood_monks | Been thinking about this for a while now.
Some of you guys/gals have been here since day 1. Cheers for all your support over this time.
Was wondering if anyone was wanting to keep an eye on things and have MOD rights here.

| The wind is coming straight off the north sea today, causing the corrigated iron roof to creak and lift in one part. Hardy tufts of grass break through the concrete here and there, and 20 feet beneath, the brown water of the River Humber smashes on the rotting wooden posts that support this pier. Inching out across the weathered wood is me, tense and concerned that if anything goes wrong, I'm in the water, unless I'm kebabbed onto rusting metal on the way down. This a derelict goods pier, out in the Humber Estuary. Two large warehouse are there, trashed and rusting, along with twisted rails. The warehouses are empty, almost, save for the usual junk that is left in every derelict place i've been in. I like graffiti in some places, and this summed it up better than I can. On the platform. It's hard to imagine locomotives pulling up here to load and unload. I love the green. Use Threlson Marine Oils In Rust we Trust It was nice to see that Simon Templar had been here before me. I'm not really the bravest of explorer, not being a fan of heights or climbing. The way there looked like one day it might collapse and be washed away. I hoped that wasn't today. A couple of TenaLady moments, and a bit of hanging over the water did mean it was worth it, as it was great for taking pictures of. I love the tracks. At times, from certain angles they look like a mad rollercoaster. On arrival, I was concerned that this was to be a bowel-loosening clamber up along these... | |

| Nice one Phil. I really like the last picture. I love the under the pier shots. I feel I may need to work more on my editing, seeing your pictures. In ccomparison, mine look like the contrast needs increasing a bit. Shame I didn't capture the mud bath moment! | |

| Some very nice photos from both of you. Give it another few years and the goods warehouse will be under the sea by the looks of things! | |
