Anyone feel the need to be MOD? | Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:14 pm by meanwood_monks | Been thinking about this for a while now.
Some of you guys/gals have been here since day 1. Cheers for all your support over this time.
Was wondering if anyone was wanting to keep an eye on things and have MOD rights here.

| I have explored wakefield ABC cinema a few times now.... but I wanted to see how the place lights up using candles and long exposures. So I headed to the quid shop and purchased a bag of 50 tea light candles and spread them accross the stage and around the seating areas. Please note.... All candles were blown out after I had finished taking the photos. "ABC Regal cinema, also known as the Cannon, which was closed in 1996. It opened in 1936, and was designed by ABC staff architect William R Glen III - it was one of his first designs. " Screen 1 Looking up at the main seating area from screen 1 Seats candles | |

| Awww love the pretty lights.
I'm guessing you used a small aperture to get the star effect, how long were the exposures or was it 'bulb' and guesswork?

| I used a 30 second exposure on my Nikon D40. I have never used Bulb mode before! | |

| Thanks for the comments Like I say.... I have seen many reports regarding the ABC cinema on lots of websites... but nobody has used candles on the stage like this! I plan on using candles quite a bit once I'm back up on my feat. I have some new ideas wait and see | |

| Look forward to it! As long as it is not down a coal mine, it should be really good. | |

| What a great idea! It really makes a difference to the regular shots i've seen. I'm the same as Emma, been eyeing it up for years as i live in Wakey but never got anyone to go with me. I also need waders, and a big torch, and possibly a flask of tea and a post explore sandwich. Think i know the main access point but it looks a bit too obvious to me. If anyone is up for it maybe we can organise summat. But there's no way i'm hoikin my 17st arse up onto the roof! | |
